POSITION: Senior Operations Manager
SALARY: £55k per annum + Benefits
A profitable and growing, precision engineering business, with a market leading brand name in the pharmaceutical sector and global channels to market have a requirement for a Senior Operations Manager
Reporting to: Operations Director
Prime responsibility for managing a small team of managers to manufacture the Company’s range of products to the required quality standard and due date, whilst achieving the objectives and financial performance defined in the business plan
Contribute to the business plan, identifying key developments and setting targets and action plans to achieve this.
Responsible for the scheduling of work, operating and developing business systems to give visibility of work throughout the business.
Managing workload to meet the needs of the customer and being able to respond to changing priorities.
Ensuring machinery and equipment are operated and maintained to maximise utilisation.
Identifying correct manning levels and calibre of staff to meet a planned increase in sales, overseeing effective recruitment, training and re-organisation of staff to best utilise the labour resource.
Develop effective communication systems to ensure that the business plan objectives are clear driven down and understood by all
Liaise with customers, suppliers & subcontractorsThe Candidate:
Degree/HND or equivalent in a mechanical or manufacturing engineering discipline, ideally including CAD/CAM component
Up-to- date experience of current CNC machining techniques
Experience of working in a fast paced engineering environment
At least ten years’ experience of managing large teams of employees and being responsible for driving performance, increasing throughput and improving efficiencies
Good understanding of ISO 9000/BSI quality standards
Able to utilise and develop business systems for analysis of data to ensure all resources are working at optimum capacity
Self-driven with a positive can-do attitude at all times
Excellent communicator, decisive and able to develop practical plans and lead by example in the execution of those plans
Able to develop, motivate and team to give their best
Analytical, able to solve complex logistical problemsDesirable:
Tablet tooling and process knowledge
Circa £55k + an excellent remuneration package that includes a good bonus package, healthcare and pension plan.
